Anatol Rapoport was born in Lozovaya, Russia, and studied piano, composition and conducting in Vienna. In America he became a mathematician of biology and behavioral science, focusing on games and conflict theories, then came to Canada in 1970. He is the author of Two-Person Game Theory and N-Person Game Theory among many other well-known works. He is the recipient of the Lenz International Peace Research Prize, and is currently professor of Peace Studies at the University of Toronto.
